In order to prevent the ticket-selling website from failing due to an excessive number of individuals attempting to purchase match passes at the same time, BCCI and ICC have mutually determined that tickets will be made available in phases. The two boards were aware that the website that sold tickets for India’s matches failed prior to the 2019 ODI World Cup in England, and they didn’t want that to happen again for the following edition of the prestigious event.
The staggered sale strategy is intended to effectively manage the anticipated spike in demand. It’s the best approach to handle the system for the advantage of the spectators, according to an insider, CRICKETMOOD reported.
Tickets for non-Indian games will go on sale before those for Indian games. As a result, the website will experience reduced strain.
The crucial ticket sale order
The World Cup’s first day of ticket sales will be August 25, when fans may get tickets for all non-Indian event matches and warm-up games. Tickets for India’s pregame matches in Trivandrum and Guwahati will go on sale on August 30.
On August 31, tickets will go on sale for the first three of India’s four games against Australia (Chennai, October 8), Afghanistan (Delhi, October 11), and Bangladesh (Pune, October 19).
Tickets for the following three games, which will be contested on October 22, in Dharamsala (against New Zealand), October 29, in Lucknow (against England), and November 2, in Mumbai (against Sri Lanka), can be purchased starting on September 1.
Tickets for the matches between India and South Africa (November 5) in Kolkata and India and the Netherlands (November 12) in Bengaluru will go on sale from September 2.
On September 3, fans can get tickets for the highly anticipated India vs. Pakistan match that will take place on October 14 at the largest cricket stadium in the world in Ahmedabad. Less than three weeks before the big event’s first day, on September 15, tickets for the semifinals and championship game will go on sale.
