In the BBL and WBBL, up to 50 players have been kept in the platinum bracket. Star players in the WBBL include, among others, Harmanpreet Kaur, Marizanne Kapp, and Alice Capsey. The Big Bash League (BBL) and Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) are rapidly approaching another much anticipated season, and teams have started evaluating the new players they might add to their setup to succeed.
The most players from any nation are from England, where 14 players are on the BBL platinum list. The national team has been delivering incredible results throughout the three formats of international cricket, therefore the franchises will be eager to sign these players.
They may not be available for the entirety of the competition, though, as England will play a five-match Test series against India starting in January and a white-ball series against the West Indies in December. From the previous edition, there has been a significant increase in the BBL salary bands. The platinum players will now receive AUD 420,000, an increase from $340,000 the previous year. The athlete will only receive the full sum, though, if he is available for the entire season. They can earn AUD 400,000 from playing just 10 games, or AUD 380,000 from playing only nine. No matter how many games a cricketer plays, they will receive AUD 360,000 if they play eight or fewer. Silver and bronze winners will receive AUD 200,000, while gold winners will receive AUD 300,000.
A few players may depart for the SA20, which starts on January 10, during the BBL’s final stages. Additionally, Pakistan has a few tasks that conflict with BBL.
The WBBL will use a draft to select foreign players for the first time this season. Gold, silver, platinum, and bronze players will each receive AUD 110,000, AUD 90,000, AUD 65, and AUD 40,000, respectively. A player can only win up to 95% of the silver category if she chooses the direct nomination route. From October 19 to December 2, the WBBL will take place.
