In their first-ever match of the season, Australia, the reigning champions, will play Sri Lanka in Sharjah on October 5. Australia has never played in the United Arab Emirates.
On the same day, England, another heavyweight team, will take on Bangladesh in their inaugural match.
October 6 is the scheduled date of the highly anticipated match between India and Pakistan. Dubai’s game will take place in the afternoon. On October 9, the team captained by Harmanpreet Kaur will also play host to Sri Lanka, the current Asian champions. On October 13, they will play their last league match in Sharjah against Australia.
The first semi-final, which is also India’s half, will take place in Dubai pending qualifying. The first semi-final takes place in Dubai on October 17 and the second semi-final takes place in Sharjah on October 18. Reserve days have been set aside for both of the headline matches, which was not the case during the men’s T20 World Cup earlier this year.
