The 16-member Bangladeshi team for the two-match Test series on Thursday, September 12, was announced ahead of the highly anticipated journey to India. The team still includes veterans like Shakib Al Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto, and Mushfiqur Rahim; the comparatively new additions include Nayeem Hasan and Nahid Rana. Significantly, four days before the opening match, which is scheduled to take place at Chennai’s historic MA Chidambaram Stadium, Bangladesh will arrive in the neighbourhood on September 15.
On the other side, hosts India will be in Chennai by Thursday night, giving them at least three more days in the host city to acclimatise to the weather. A day after the Duleep Trophy first round concluded, India had already announced their 15-person team.
