Bangladesh announce T20I squad for England, including three uncapped players.

Bangladesh has announced their roster for the upcoming three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series against England, which will be contested later this month. For the series, three uncapped players have been added to the roster. Batsman Towhid Hridoy, pacer Rejaur Rahman Raja, and left-arm spinner Tanvir Islam are the three players included in the team as a result of their remarkable performances in the recently concluded Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

In addition, the batsmen Shamim Hossain and Rony Talukdar have been recalled to the team after a successful BPL campaign. Hossain returns to play for Bangladesh for the first time since November 2021. In 2015, Rony played his sole T20 international against South Africa.

Yasir Ali, Soumya Sarkar, Mosaddek Hossain, an all-rounder, and Ebadot Hossain and Shoriful Islam, two pacers, have been removed from the squad. Significantly, they were all members of the Bangladesh squad that competed in the Twenty20 World Cup in Australia in November.
The first T20 match is set to take place on March 9 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. The second and third matches will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on March 12 and 14, respectively.

This will be Bangladesh and England’s first bilateral T20 international series.

England won the first ODI by three wickets.

In the first one-day international, England defeated Bangladesh by three wickets at the Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on March 1. The victory gave the visitors a 1-0 lead in the three-game series. On March 3, the second ODI will be played at the same venue.

The Bangladesh captain won the toss and elected to bat first. With the exception of Mahmudullah and Tamim Iqbal, none of the other hitters except Najmul Hossain Shanto were able to spend much time in the middle. Taskin Ahmed and Taijul Islam hit 14 and 10 runs, respectively, to help the hosts surpass the 200-run threshold. Each of Jofre Archer, Mark Wood, Moeen Ali, and Adil Rashid accounted for two dismissals.

In pursuit of a target of 210 runs, England began shakily, losing wickets on a regular basis. Only David Malan camped at one end to maintain the flow of runs. Malan performed one of his finest One-Day International innings to guide England to victory with 3 wickets and 8 balls remaining. Malan’s 114*-run innings included 4 sixes and 8 fours. Bangladesh’s Taijul Islam captured three wickets.

The Jos Buttler-led team scored 212 for 7 with Dawid Malan (114*) playing the best ODI innings of his career. England limited the hosts to 209 with eight balls remaining, resulting in a victory.
