In an attempt to improve their performance in the forthcoming two-match series against South Africa, Bangladesh replaced their coach following a lackluster showing in India. The hosts will not have an easy time, but Phil Simmons, the new head coach, is confident. They won the series 0–2 thanks to some outstanding cricketing performances in Pakistan, but they lacked grit when playing India. Interestingly, experienced Shakib Al Hasan will not be playing for Bangladesh in the opening Test. The left-arm spinner Hasan Murad has been called up to replace the all-rounder, who was supposed to play but is currently “unavailable.” With Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana in the mix, the pace assault appears to be in control. In spite of this, the team management has prepared for the fact that the surface of Dhaka will favor the spinners.
Both Anrich Nortje, who has already expressed his desire not to play in every series, and Nandre Burger will be unavailable for South Africa for the series. Temba Bavuma, their captain, will only miss the opening
