This series is a part of the ICC One-Day International (ODI) Super League, and the teams will have the chance to earn points toward becoming one of the top seven teams, except the hosts India, who will receive automatic qualifying for the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
PCB had earlier announced its 16-player squad for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League fixtures against the Netherlands from August 16-21 and its 15-member side for the ACC T20 Asia Cup, which will be played in the United Arab Emirates from August 27 to September 11. These matches are scheduled to take place between August 16 and September 11. Hasan Ali has been replaced by the fast bowler Naseem Shah in both of the teams, and Salman Ali Agha, who played in the one-day internationals in England in 2021, has been recalled.
The team’s physiotherapist and trainer will be in charge of Shaheen Shah Afridi’s rehabilitation programme. They will also be the ones to determine whether or not he will be able to return to international cricket. Shaheen Shah Afridi has been kept on the ODI and T20I teams. In order to better prepare for the ACC T20 Asia Cup, the Netherlands ODI squad will undergo five substitutions.
