Pakistan is getting ready for Australia three-match Test series, which begins on December 14. Cricket Australia has announced the establishment of a specific ‘Pakistan Bay’ for the fans of the visiting team, which is a great step towards inclusion. The bay will be up for business throughout the opening Test match in Perth, hoping to provide Pakistani fans with a special experience in front of the anticipated 18,000 spectators.
Pakistan Bay will not serve alcohol, with a focus on accommodating the tastes of the visiting team and its supporters. The planners have also planned tea, halal, and desi food choices, so visitors can have a varied and family-friendly experience inside the stadium.
The Pakistani fans have a central location to come together and show their unwavering support for their team: Perth Stadium has designated two zones surrounding the Pakistan dressing room as the “Pakistan Bay.” The Pakistan Bay has been designated as an alcohol-free area, which is a wonderful step towards inclusion and promotes a family-friendly atmosphere. Cricket Australia released a statement saying, “Tea, Halal, and Desi food options will be available, further enriching the communal spirit within the Pakistan Bay.”
The Pakistani team departed without a doctor after checking their baggage at the airport.
The Pakistani team has had challenges in the run-up to the series, though, since they are currently in Australia without a designated physician due to visa and passport concerns. Concerns were raised about the squad’s medical support after Sohail Saleem, the designated team doctor for the Australia-New Zealand series, failed to arrive in time to join the delegation.
Dr. Saleem will join the team in Australia in time for the first Test in Perth as soon as the Pakistan Cricket Board is successful in obtaining a visa for him.
According to NDTV, a trustworthy source inside the PCB stated, “Shoaib had some expired passport issues, which the board is sorting out and hopefully he will also soon reach the UAE to take charge.”
