Shreyanka Patil led India A in a triumphant opening of the 2023 ACC Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup. On Tuesday, June 13, the Shweta Sehrawat-led team defeated the Hong Kong women by nine wickets at the Mission Road Ground in Hong Kong.
Sehrawat, having won the toss, invited Hong Kong to bat first. Mannat Kashyap and Titus Sadhu were responsible for India’s early breakthroughs, dismissing Natasha Miles and Shaneen Shahzad. Patil then took five wickets as Hong Kong was bowled out for 34 runs in 14 overs. Against the inexperienced Hong Kong team, the 20-year-old concluded with an impressive 5/2 record. Kashyap and Parshavi Chopra each took two wickets for the Indian team, while Sadhu took one.
After the early dismissal of the captain, India A chased down the target in 5.2 overs with keeper-bat Uma Chetry and Gongadi Trisha. Chetry and Trisha scored 16 and 19, respectively, without being defeated during the chase.

Shreyanka Patil stated that, ever since she was a child, she has yearned to don the Indian uniform, a desire that has not subsided. The 20-year-old also conveyed gratitude following her debut five-wicket haul, stating that it means a great deal to her.
“I am extremely appreciative to be donning this jersey. Since I was a child, I’ve dreamed of wearing this jersey, and I won’t stop fantasizing; I’ll continue dreaming. However, this is only the beginning, and I’ve cherished this goal because it means so much to me. “It was an incredible feeling to take five wickets on my debut,” the 20-year-old told ACC.
