Two additional spinners have been called up for the Indian team’s ongoing camp in Nagpur. Two additional off-spinners have joined the Rohit Sharma-led team as they gear up for the first of the four Test matches, which will begin at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur on February 9. Both Pulkit Narang of Delhi, who is now on the Services team, and Jayant Yadav of Haryana, who has previously represented India, have been coopted as net bowlers.

In addition to the two offies, the Indian squad also has four other spinners who are net bowlers: Sai Kishore, Rahul Chahar, Washington Sundar, and Saurabh Kumar. The Indian team’s preparation to neutralise the threat of Nathan Lyon, the top spinner in the Australian camp, can be seen by the presence of a few off-spinners in the lineup.

The four-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) series, which will determine the World Test Championship (WTC) champions, will undoubtedly be determined by the projected spinner-friendly pitches.

Sunday will be a rest day for the Indian team, after which the camp will relocate to Jamtha, Nagpur’s new VCA Stadium, where the Test will be played. The Old VCA stadium in the city served as the camp’s current location.

The following players will represent India in the first two Test matches against Australia: Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, KS Bharat, Ishan Kishan, R. Ashwin, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohd. Shami, Mohd. Siraj, Umesh Yadav, Jaydev Unadkat, and Suryakumar yadav.
