On July 6, Arshdeep Singh declared on Instagram that he and his family will be gathering at Chandigarh Airport Road at 6:30 PM IST to celebrate India’s victory in the T20 World Cup 2024.
The left-arm speedster was crucial to India’s successful run in the 20-team T20 World Cup in the USA and the West Indies last month. With an average of 12.65 and a strike rate of 10.59, he took 17 wickets from eight games to finish as the joint-highest wicket-taker at the premier event. Arshdeep took key wickets of Quinton de Kock and Aiden Markram in the top match against South Africa, which ended with the Men in Blue winning by a score of just seven runs at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.
Fans have showered the Indian players with love ever since their triumphant return home. On July 4, a sea of ecstatic fans flocked to Mumbai for an open-bus procession, where they warmly welcomed the players.
Arshdeep invited his followers to a lavish celebration in Chandigarh via his social media accounts, and he is now ready to receive even more love from them.
“Excited to see everyone at 6:30 PM on Chandigarh Airport Road,” the 25-year-old pacer wrote on his Instagram story.

When I bowl, they don’t open their eyes. I’m not sure why. When people are seated in the stadium, who commits these crimes? Every time I bowl, my parents claim to close their eyes. I’ve explained to them why they should travel so far. What exactly is happening in the match, and how would you obtain that feeling? I honour their superstitious beliefs. Their contribution to my bowling is to close their eyes. In an interview with Indian Express, Arshdeep stated that it makes them happy.
