Anushka Sharma is awed by Virat Kohli’s fielding brilliance in the IPL of 2023.

Anushka Sharma is awed by Virat Kohli's fielding brilliance in the IPL of 2023.

Monday, May 1, at the Ekana Sports City Stadium, the 43rd match of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) featured a scintillating match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants, led by Faf du Plessis.

Kohli, who is known for wearing his emotions on his sleeve, had a memorable game in Lucknow, where he took two superb catches to thwart Lucknow’s plans to chase down the target. First, Kohli took a comfortable catch as Glenn Maxwell dismissed Krunal Pandya in the fourth over of the second innings. Then, Ayush Badoni was dismissed in the very next over as the batsman attempted to go inside out, but Kohli took a spectacular catch in the extra cover region.

Even the batting maestro’s wife, Anushka Sharma, who was celebrating her 35th birthday on the same day, smiled at the spectacular catch. After Kohli caught Badoni’s ball, she was ecstatic, and her reaction went viral on social media.
RCB defends LSG’s low total thanks to a brilliant ball-playing performance.

First to bat at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow was RCB. Virat Kohli scored 31 runs off 30 balls, and Faf du Plessis accumulated 44 runs off 40 balls, as the team’s first innings got off to a strong start. Except for Dinesh Karthik, none of the other batsmen scored more than 10 runs.

By the conclusion of the first innings, RCB had scored 126 for nine. Kyle Mayers was dismissed for a duck as the hosts’ run pursuit began without captain KL Rahul due to injury. As a result, the hosts got off to a terrible start. In three overs, Josh Hazlewood bowled exceptionally well with the ball, claiming two wickets and allowing 15 runs.

Karn Sharma took two wickets, while Mohammed Siraj, Glenn Maxwell, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Harshal Patel each took one, limiting Lucknow to 108 runs and resulting in an 18-run victory for the opposition.
