Anil Kumble offers commentary on Rohit Sharma's leadership throughout the 2013 IPL, saying that Sharma "was not scared to speak what he had to say."

Anil Kumble, a former captain of India, remembered the 2013 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), in which he was the coach of the Mumbai Indians (MI). The seasoned bowler provided observations on Rohit Sharma’s management style during that time period. Incidentally, it was Rohit’s debut IPL campaign leading the team.

Rohit, according to Kumble, was not afraid to express his opinions. The 52-year-old continued by saying that Rohit had a wealth of experience nearby. He also discussed the Indian captain’s management of the new team in the 2017 IPL.

He didn’t hesitate to speak his mind. He went out to those with more experience who were close by and made his own selections after that. You expect that from a captain. At the “Insiders Preview -Rohit Sharma” show on JioCinema, Kumble remarked, “2017 was a new squad, and the kind of captaincy we saw from him in terms of defending low scores, that’s when your genuine leadership comes through.

Kumble wants Rohit to bat at position number four.
Anil Kumble continued by saying that Rohit Sharma should bat at position four in the forthcoming season of the lucrative league. He believed that the MI team’s middle order required some seasoned batters.

“You need that experience in the middle order, especially with the current MI team. Although MI has some excellent batters, I believe that someone like Rohit Sharma in the middle who can manage seven to fifteen overs is absolutely essential,” Kumble continued.

Rohit Sharma has led Mumbai Indians to five IPL championships, making him the most successful captain in league history. The 35-year-old hitter, who joined MI in 2011, is preparing for the forthcoming season with the goal of helping the team win an unprecedented sixth IPL championship. At the M, the five-time champions will play Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their opening game of the year. On April 2, Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
