Andy Flower, a former cricket player from Zimbabwe, supported the BCCI’s proposal to name Gautam Gambhir the team’s new head coach. He knows the worth of Gambhir because he spent two years working with the southpaw with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
Flower emphasised Gambhir’s passion for Indian cricket while also pointing out that he is a very rash and indecisive tactician. He thinks the BCCI made the right choice and anticipates that Gambhir would be a successful head coach of the national team.
“Well, he ought to give up legends cricket right now as the first thing. Gautam Gambhir is one amazing dude; it was a pleasure working with him. He has strong opinions and distinct thoughts about the game, according to Flower, who was cited by the Hindustan Times.
“He is an extremely resolute individual, deeply rooted in Indian culture, and passionate about his role as an Indian cricket representative. The 56-year-old continued, “I think he’s going to succeed, and I think it’s a good appointment.”
Reports state that Abhishek Nayar is the front-runner to support Gambhir in the Indian team in the meantime. The fielding coach will probably be either Jonty Rhodes or Ryan ten Doeschate, but a lot can happen in the next few days.
An invitation will be sent out shortly by BCCI, and everything should be completed in the following ten days. Zaheer Khan and Lakshmipathy Balaji are currently the front-runners for the position of bowling coach. Although BCCI executives prefer someone with more international experience, Gambhir was hoping to get Vinay Kumar.
Gambhir lacks sufficient coaching experience in the meantime. Although he has coached the Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow in the past, it remains to be seen how well he does in Test cricket, particularly in Australia and England.

Nonetheless, considering how successful he was as a player, there is optimism that the former cricket player will be successful in the new position.
