One of the toughest batters in the game of cricket is Andre Russell. He has a stellar reputation, particularly in franchise cricket, thanks to his ability to strike the ball hard and far. In the first season of Major League Cricket (MLC), the all-rounder is now playing for Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR). Sunil Narine’s club lost four straight games, eliminating any hope they had of making the playoffs.
But Andre Russell, who has scored 169 runs in four games at an average of 84.50 and a strike rate of 164.08, has been in outstanding form for the struggling club. The 35-year-old had a standout game for LAKR versus Washington Freedom in which he scored an unbeatable 37-ball 70 in the first innings. His innings helped LAKR reach 175/7 in 20 overs. Andre Russell scored a ferocious knock in which he hammered six fours and as many sixes.
A young fan was unfortunatey struck on the head by one of his sixes while watching in the stands. Thank goodness, it didn’t appear like a serious injury. Andre Russell got to know the young boy in person following the game. He received a nice hug by the T20 veteran, who also looked at his injury. He also provided the youngster with some insightful advice:
Please keep your eyes on the ball the next time Andre Russell is at bat.
Andre Russell sat for photos with the youngster and autographed a few caps and a toy cricket bat for him. On Instagram, LAKR posted the lovely video.

On Sunday, Seattle Orcas take on the Los Angeles Knight Riders.
When the Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR) take on league leaders Seattle Orcas (SEO) in Morrisville on Sunday, their dismal season will come to an end. The Seattle Orcas, who are unbeaten and have already qualified for the Playoffs, will make it difficult for Sunil Narine and company to complete their season on a high note.
With two more games to go, SEO, led by Wayne Parnell, have beaten the Washington Freedom, San Francisco Unicorns, and Texas Super Kings decisively to secure their passage to the next round of the competition.
