Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar, who is only 15 years old, is the youngest player in the Indian Premier League 2023 auction

Ghazanfar’s name appeared on the list of 405 players who were shortlisted after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made the announcement of the players who would be participating in the next auction.

The young man from Afghanistan has placed his bid in the INR 20 lakh price bracket. His bowling style is quite comparable to that of India’s Ravichandran Ashwin, who has revolutionised the art of off-spin bowling in the shortest format with his many different variations. Despite the fact that he bowls off-spin, his style is quite similar to Ravichandran Ashwin’s.

Ghazanfar has a height of 6 feet and 2 inches, and he began his career as a fast bowler before his predecessor as captain of Afghanistan’s cricket team, Dawlat Ahmadzai, converted him into a spinner.

The boy continued, “I began off playing tennis ball cricket and would play in my neighbourhood. However, under the direction of my coach, I started bowling spin, and soon, I developed an action, and there hasn’t been any looking back since.”

Given that age is on Ghazanfar’s side and that he possesses a towering structure, it is possible that numerous franchises may compete for him during the auction, particularly for the long-term perspective.
