Skipper of the Mumbai team and star Indian cricketer Ajinkya Rahane, recently uploaded a heartfelt message for the various stakeholders involved in the initiation and the actualization of a cricket academy he has set up in Mumbai.
Rahane thanked Ashish Shelar, the BCCI treasurer, and the chief ministers’ panel for the state of Maharashtra for helping to realise his dream, even though the winning skipper of the 2024 Ranji Trophy did not reveal the specifics of the establishment.

While the Rahane academy may not be as large as the recently constructed National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, it will undoubtedly serve Mumbai’s youth and improve their technical and all-around game knowledge.

Also, the cricketer Rahane, who was born in Ashwi-KD, will be playing his next match at the Irani Cup 2024–25, leading Mumbai against the rest of India in a trophy match. The addition of Indian cricketers Shardul Thakur and Shreyas Iyer would significantly improve the team’s makeup. The match will begin on October 1 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

Rahane played in the One-Day Cup for Leicestershire, to speak of his most recent exploits. Over the course of 10 innings, he scored 378 runs. His greatest performance thus far in the second level of the County Championship, out of three first-class games, was against Glamorgan. 42 and 102, to be exact, were his scores.
