Ajay Jadeja, a former cricket player for India, has made his forecast regarding the four retentions that the Chennai Super Kings may make prior to the IPL 2025 auction. The IPL recently published a set of rules outlining the guidelines for the season and the forthcoming auction.
The clubs may keep a maximum of five capped players, including both Indian and foreign players, and a maximum of two uncapped players. A franchise may retain a maximum of six players through direct retention, Right to Match cards, or a mix of both.
Prior to the auction, Jadeja expressed his opinion that CSK would undoubtedly keep MS Dhoni, along with captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ravindra Jadeja.
“MS Dhoni is unquestionably one. That is undeniable since, among other things, he is now an uncapped player and has demonstrated for a long time that he doesn’t need to be ranked first or second to make the team. Thus, at that price, there is no question,” Jadeja stated on JioCinema. “You should retain Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad as well, as he had a good year. You are unable to leave Ravindra; Jadeja is the one I am referring about, not Rachin. These three seem like the ideal fit for them.”
Ajay Jadeja: You wouldn’t want to leave Pathirana
The outstanding Sri Lankan bowler Matheesha Pathirana was Jadeja’s choice for the most recent retention. He stated that CSK cannot afford to lose Pathirana as a player. According to his opinion, the team will retain two RTMs and Dhoni, Gaikwad, Jadeja, and Pathirana as the four retentions. You would be reluctant to depart from Pathirana. He seems like one of the foreign players to me.

It’s their style, not the money, that makes athletes valuable. Therefore, in my opinion, these four will be their key players, and they’ll retain two RTMs,” Jadeja remarked.
