A significant renovation is planned for Kolkata’s famous Eden Gardens in 2025 in preparation for the 2026 T20 World Cup. The defending champion Kolkata Knight Riders might relocate their base for some or all of the games to another stadium for the same reason. With the potential to be added to the list of IPL hosting locations, Tripura is the front-runner.
The construction of the international cricket stadium in Narsingarh, which is expected to cost INR 185 crore, started in 2017 and is almost ready for games. Subrata Dey, secretary of the Tripura Cricket Association, affirmed that the stadium will be completed by February 2025.
He stated that KKR might play in the stadium or that another state could gain. Fascinatingly, Subrata also stated that they would terminate the firm’s contract and assign a new one if the work wasn’t finished in the allotted time.
Recently, IPL chairman Arun Kumar Dhumal paid a visit to the proposed international stadium in Narsingarh, which is outside the state capital. News18 cited Subarta as adding, “If the stadium is completed by February of next year, it could be used as KKR’s second home field or another state will benefit.”
Since the proposed stadium is a prime location for hosting IPL matches, we have enlisted the help of a reputable construction company to move quickly and finish the project by February 2025. After reviewing the construction progress, the TCA will decide whether to terminate the agency and hire a another business to do the remaining work if the agency doesn’t reach the deadline, he continued.
Despite the stadium’s 22-month setup deadline, the project has been underway for seven years. A guarantee of hosting at least two of KKR’s games next year has led the TCA to request that the firm complete the remaining work within the allotted period.

At least two KKR IPL matches might be held at Narsingarh International Cricket Stadium if the stadium’s construction is finished by February of next year, he stated.
