Rishabh Pant, the teenage wicketkeeper-batter, disregarded Virat Kohli’s request for a single on the final delivery before lunch, which caused Kohli to be dissatisfied with Pant.
On the second day of the second test match that is currently being played against Bangladesh, Kohli had nudged Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s delivery towards the on-side and then called for a single to be taken.
Pant, on the other hand, chose not to take advantage of the situation, which resulted in Kohli being forced to dive near the striker’s end. After the event, Kohli glared at Pant to communicate his displeasure with what had just occurred.
Despite this, both players gave each other a friendly fist bump before heading back to the locker room for lunch.
Because of Taskin Ahmed’s dismissal of Kohli for 24 runs, the Indian batsman’s quest to get his 28th Test century continued.
Kohli, who scored 1 and 19 in the first test, edged Taskin’s length ball behind to the keeper. The keeper was able to make the catch. On the second day, during the second session, he was kicked out.
India were 94/4 after Kohli’s dismissal.
Despite this, India was able to surpass Bangladesh’s total thanks to the counterattacking knocks played by Pant and Shreyas Iyer.
Before taking tea, the two began a counterattack that resulted in them adding 132 runs to their unbroken fifth wicket stand.
There were several crucial chances for Bangladesh to grab the lead in the match but they passed up.
Iyer was outfielded by Mehidy Hasan while he was batting against Taskin, and soon after that, wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan missed an easy opportunity to stump Shakib.
Taijul had KL Rahul (10) and Shubman Gill (20) out leg-before in consecutive overs, and then he got Cheteshwar Pujara (24) out before the end of the first session of the day. Bangladesh won the first session of the day.
