After losing to New Zealand, Pakistan drops from No. 1 in the ODI rankings to No. 2 in 48 hours.

Just a few days after achieving the feat, Pakistan lost its top status in the ICC Men’s ODI team rankings after falling to New Zealand in the final ODI of the five-match series. The Babar Azam-led team took the top spot after defeating New Zealand in the fourth ODI, but they needed to complete a clean sweep to keep that spot.

Hours after reaching the historic milestone, the Men in Green fell in the rankings after the Kiwis outscored Pakistan in the final ODI and delivered Pakistan a 47-run defeat. Notably, Pakistan achieved the highest position ever in the history of the ICC rankings.
