Axar Patel, a left-handed batsman, was at his best in the second One-Day International against the West Indies, scoring an unbeaten 64 runs off just 35 balls to lead India win by two wickets and take a commanding 2-0 series lead.
Having Axar & Mohammed Siraj at the crease and Kyle Mayers in possession of the ball, India needed 8 runs from the final over to win. India won the match when Axar smashed a six off the fourth ball of the over.
Following the victory, the BCCI posted a video of the team’s celebrations in the locker room, in which everyone can be seen jumping for excitement. Mohammed Siraj discussed the camp’s self-belief in the video, as well as his own confidence in his ability to knock a six if necessary.

Shai Hope performed a 115-run knock in his 100th One Day International, becoming the 10th male batter to get a hundred in his 100th One Day International. Earlier, West Indies posted 311/8 in 50 overs.
Nicholas Pooran, the captain, had also scored 74 runs off of 77 balls. For India, Shardul Thakur came back with three wickets.
The third and final ODI between India and West Indies will take place on Wednesday.
