Pacers Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf spoke with Shaheen, who is in London at the moment, following Pakistan’s triumph over India on Sunday in the Super 4 stage of the ongoing Asia Cup 2022.
The Pakistani fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi is currently receiving rehabilitation in London in an effort to ensure that he will be fit to compete in the Twenty20 World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in Australia in the months of October and November of this year.
Pacers Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf spoke with Shaheen, who is in London at the moment, following Pakistan’s triumph over India on Sunday in the Super 4 stage of the ongoing Asia Cup 2022.
Naseem and Haris can be seen checking up on Shaheen in a video that was published by the official Twitter handle of the PCB. In the video, Shaheen can be heard saying that his rehabilitation is progressing well and that he is weight training. In two weeks, I will be bowling, and I have been working out hard to get those abs in shape.
In response to this, Haris had a hysterically funny comment, saying, “Yes, you have intentions to become an actress in the future, right?”
Afridi is heard expressing his desire in the video for Haris and Naseem to bowl yorkers towards the end of the match. Afridi’s comments can be found here. Afridi also mentioned to Rauf that he had watched the match in which Rauf bowled against India and believed it was “really well.”
Afridi is heard saying in the video, “Asia cup nahi jaani chahiye,” which translates to “Asia cup shouldn’t go out of our hands.”
Rauf responded to this by stating, “Aap ki bathaye hue.. aap guru ho! (I’m just following in your footsteps, you are the master.)”
During her time in London, Shaheen will continue to receive medical care under the direction of the PCB Medical Advisory Panel, which also includes Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed and Dr. Zafar Iqbal, both of whom practise medicine in London.
In July, while playing the fielding position for the first test match against Sri Lanka, Shaheen had pain in his posterior cruciate ligament (PCL). It is anticipated that he will recover to full fitness before to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022; however, the PCB Medical Advisory Panel will determine whether or not he will be allowed to resume playing competitive cricket.
