Kabul, 2 October 2023: The Afghanistan Cricket Board has announced that the Afghanistan A Team would tour Oman from October 12 to 23 for a five-match T20I Series and two One Day matches.
The five Twenty20 International matches are set to take place at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground (Turf 1) in Muscat, Oman, between October 17 and 23. The two One Day Matches are slated to be played on October 12 and 15, respectively.
The Afghanistan and Oman Cricket Boards have made the decision with the intention of establishing potential long-term bilateral ties while also nurturing the growth of cricket in both nations.
It is a noteworthy accomplishment for the Afghanistan Cricket Board to have contributed to the expansion and improvement of cricket in Afghanistan and to have upheld solid bilateral ties with other cricketing nations. We are dedicated to keeping up our efforts to broaden and enhance the game, and we hope that all players will have the chance to show off their abilities and make fond memories during this tour, said Naseeb Khan, the ACB CEO.
“Oman continues to be a strong friend and supporter of cricket, and the game there has advanced just as it did in Afghanistan. The upcoming tour between the two nations is a great chance to improve relations between the two countries and support the development of cricket in both,” he added.
The Afghanistan A squad is being hosted by Oman for what is thought to be the first time; this lays the path for additional bilateral series between the two teams in the future.
