According to Ravi Shastri, “With Hardik Pandya Injured, it Has become a Massive Problem,” which Cost India a Couple of World Cups

During his term as Team India’s head coach, Ravi Shastri was successful. The 60-year-old and former captain Virat Kohli had a productive connection that contributed to their immense success in Test cricket. In red-ball cricket, Team India was a force to deal with because they played excellent cricket in foreign settings, making them one of the best touring sides in cricket history.

India didn’t, however, take home an ICC trophy for white-ball cricket during Shastri’s leadership. India failed to go past the round of 16 in the 2021 T20 World Cup, which served as his final assignment as head coach. India was defeated in the semi-final of the 2019 ODI World Cup.

Shastri, who was in the broadcast booth for the second One-Day International among both India and West Indies, stated that he had requested the administrators to find a viable backup alternative for Hardik Pandya, who had a history of injuries in recent years. The former head coach of India claimed that their inability to select the right player cost them a few World Cups.

“I’ve always wanted a bowler in the top six. Additionally, it got much worse after Hardik got hurt. And it costing India money. India lost a few World Cups as a result. because none of our best six bowlers were available. That was a liability, then. We instructed the pickers to “search for someone.” But who is there, then?
