Super Kings Academy is launched in Sydney by IPL giants CSK

Chennai Super Kings (CSK), five-time IPL champions, have announced the opening of their third international Super Kings Academy in Sydney, Australia. For those who are unaware, the two worldwide academies of the well-known chain are located in Reading, UK, and Dallas, USA.

Sydney Olympic Park’s Cricket Central, 161 Silverwater Road, will be home to the Super Kings Academy. The cutting-edge facility will offer year-round indoor and outdoor training spaces. Boys’ and girls’ cricket coaching will begin in September.

“We are delighted to continue our unique adventure with Australia, which commenced in 2008 with the launch of the IPL. Australia is a nation of champions with a vibrant sports culture and a long history of cricket. The Super Kings Academy would strengthen the nation’s already robust system by assisting in the development of cricket players, both male and female, according to CSK CEO KS Viswanathan.

In cricket, geographical barriers have been progressively eroding in recent years. We have the chance to produce the next generation of cricket players with our top-notch facilities, excellent teaching curriculum, exchange programmes, and more—we are present in India, the United States, the United Kingdom, and now Australia,” he continued.

The Super Kings and Australia have a fantastic relationship because of the renowned players from Down Under who have worn their jerseys, including current batting coach Michael Hussey and Matthew Hayden. The establishment of a Super Kings Academy in the sports-mad country appeared inevitable.

In the IPL 2024, how did CSK perform?
