Haphazard batsmen Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers forged some unforgettable alliances while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). They also have a wonderful friendship off the field. The veteran from South Africa recently made the suggestion that supporters might witness Kohli say goodbye to the game in the Rainbow Nation.
The next assignment for India is a multi-format series in South Africa. Before the Test matches, Kohli told the selectors he would be joining the team and would not be playing in the white-ball leg. AB de Villiers, who was named the official brand ambassador for SA20, the main Twenty20 league in South Africa, said that Kohli would spend a season in the lucrative league before calling it quits on his remarkable playing career.
“I believe that bringing Virat over here is quite feasible. One Cricket cited de Villiers as stating, “Perhaps for his last season, we’ll give him a wonderful farewell for the end of his career.”
The former captain of South Africa claimed that he did not speak with Kohli about this. He has, however, discussed the possibility of a reunion in the T20 format in South Africa with former Indian stars like RP Singh and Robin Uthappa.
“RP Singh and Robin Uthappa are the only players I have spoken with about it. We worked together on several projects not too long ago, and I told them it would be wonderful to see them over there,” the 39-year-old stated.
I would sincerely love to see myself wearing the RCB uniform once more. AB de Villiers
Although there have been several rumors in recent years regarding de Villiers’s possible coaching return to the Royals, the ultimate comeback is still unrealized. De Villiers thanked the RCB supporters and did not completely rule out the prospect of that.
“I really hope so. My heart belongs to the RCB, really. I have played there for a very long time. I have a great relationship with the Bangalore fans, and I will always be grateful for their love and support over the years. De Villiers recently spoke with India Today. “I can’t promise anything, but I would absolutely love to see myself in the RCB colours again in the future.”
