Recently, former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra came forth and said he wasn’t sure if star player Rishabh Pant can be considered India’s all-time greatest Test batter. He emphasised that the renowned former captain of India, MS Dhoni, is a competitor as well.
It’s important to remember that Pant, who was in a potentially fatal automobile accident in December 2022, only returned to Test cricket. In the second innings of the first Test match against Bangladesh, Rishabh Pant made a remarkable century on his comeback to the longest format.
Chopra says that Pant has an advantage over others because of his performances in foreign settings, but he is unsure if Pant is the best Test hitter India has ever produced.
There would be a query about MS Dhoni because his name is on that list. He is the only wicketkeeper to score hundreds in South Africa, England, and South Africa, though, if you look at it from the perspective that we only take into account performances in SENA countries since that is how we were raised,” Aakash Chopra told Colours Cineplex.

Even if Rishabh Pant isn’t the best Test batter right now, Chopra believes that by the conclusion of his career, he has a tremendous chance to surpass all previous Test batters from India.
“After just 58 innings of play, he has already amassed six hundreds. He can undoubtedly end up as the greatest, even if he isn’t the best right now, Chopra continued.
Bangladesh and India will play at Kanpur
In relation to team India’s next tasks, they are prepared to play Bangladesh in the second Test. On September 27, both parties will engage in combat at Kanpur’s Green Park. India has already won the first Test of the series, therefore the hosts will try to secure the series with the advantage.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, is hoping to perform better in Kanpur. It is important to note that while the team did exhibit flashes of quality at times throughout the first Test, they largely faded from the game.
