India is in the process of securing a spot in the Super 8 of the current T20 World Cup after winning their last two matches against Pakistan and Ireland. They will guarantee their berth if they defeat the hosts, the United States, in their upcoming game, but before then, veteran cricketer Aakash Chopra has expressed reservations about the bowling unit. Though Chopra feels that left-arm seamer Arshdeep Singh has shown to be costly thus far, speedster Jasprit Bumrah has been, to put it mildly, amazing.
With an economy rate of 8.25, the 25-year-old has taken three wickets in two games. Chopra feels that the young pacer has a lot of room to grow in the USA, where the hitters have had a tremendous amount of difficulty. While acknowledging that Arshdeep has performed admirably with the ball, the 46-year-old has higher expectations for the pacer who was born in Guna.
“There is no denying that Arshdeep Singh has performed admirably. With Arshdeep, my wishlist is different, though. He has shown himself to be costly. Though he has always been pricey, it’s a little unexpected to see Arshdeep Singh this way in these circumstances, Chopra stated on his YouTube page.

“I want him to get wickets with the new ball here and then whenever he bowls, he should pick up two or three wickets and concede about 20 runs a ball if he has to bowl 24 balls,” the man continued.
Chopra pointed out that India might not use a spare seamer in the Super 8 and might bench Mohammed Siraj or Arshdeep. He feels that Arshdeep is ahead of Siraj in the race because he provides left-arm pace and Bumrah is unbeatable. However, he anticipates that the youthful pacer would be more clinical and economical.
Mohammed Siraj is right there, even if Arshdeep is still in the lead on that list. Arshdeep will therefore need to win both this match and the next if you are required to play in the Super Eights and you do not want to lose your spot to Siraj since there will only be two pacers available, and one of them is undoubtedly Bumrah, Chopra stated.
