Renowned analyst and former cricket player Aakash Chopra has offered his predictions on possible lineup changes as India gets ready for their third Twenty20 international match against Zimbabwe in Harare.
His observations have provoked discussions, especially in relation to the potential replacement of centurion Abhishek Sharma with Yashasvi Jaiswal.
India’s performance in the series has been somewhat inconsistent; they lost the opening Twenty20 International by 13 runs before winning the second match handily by 100 runs. Abhishek scored an incredible century in the second game, needing just 47 deliveries to reach 100 runs. This performance followed the first game’s duck. Chopra thinks that the club management might decide to bring in Jaiswal notwithstanding his valiant actions.
“Yashasvi has arrived. Therefore, the crucial point will be whether Abhishek Sharma ought to be excluded. I will be severely injured. But there have been examples before. Check if this has happened before. Karun Nair was dropped after scoring a triple hundred. “Manoj Tiwary was dropped after scoring a hundred runs,” he posted on his YouTube page.
Chopra underlined how complicated the circumstances are. The former feels that if Jaiswal is brought in by the team management, he won’t be shocked.
Many individuals were dropped from the team after hitting a century in the previous game because they were substituting for another player. Abhishek Sharma may be spotted outdoors this evening, watching the match. Because you regard him as India’s future T20 star, that won’t be a good thing. Although dropping him won’t be right, I won’t be shocked if it does,” Chopra continued.
Sanju Samson will join the team in place of Dhruv Jurel: Aakash Chopra
Apart from the shift in the opening position, Chopra also projected two other changes in the starting XI. Samson’s inclusion in the T20 World Cup squad is one of the reasons he believes Sanju Samson will take Dhruv Jurel’s place as the wicketkeeper-batter. In addition, he expected Shivam Dube to be included instead of Riyan Parag and supported Rinku Singh’s continuation.
“I think the second adjustment will be simple. That shouldn’t present too many difficulties. Sanju Samson will join the team in place of Dhruv Jurel. Despite not being batting at Sanju’s number, Dhruv Jurel participated in the World Cup. “You give him priority when he is part of the team, even though he didn’t get to play there,” he remarked.
“I’m sure Shivam Dube will play. Riyan Parag might have to leave when Shivam Dube arrives since Rinku Singh shouldn’t be touched. In the most recent game, he struck fours and sixes and was also a member of the Indian team’s World Cup touring party. Thus, Riyan Parag will go out if someone does,” Chopra said in closing.

Ruturaj Gaikwad’s position was also discussed by the pundit, who implied that he will stick at number three in the batting order. Chopra praised Gaikwad’s adaptability, noting that he had already given up the starting spot to captail India in the Asian Games the year before.
