A reward of Rs. 5 Crore has been offered by the BCCI to the winning women’s U-19 T20 squad

After India’s dominant performance at the first Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup, the secretary of the BCCI, Jay Shah, made the astounding announcement on Sunday that the whole Indian team would receive a cash prize of Rs 5 crore for their efforts.

In the championship match held in South Africa, India defeated England by a convincing margin of seven wickets.

The India U-19 team, led by Shafali Verma, was able to accomplish something that their elders were unable to by overcoming the final obstacle in a global competition.

“The success of the Indian women’s cricket team at the World Cup has elevated the sport’s profile to a new level, contributing to the sport’s overall improvement in India.

It gives me great pleasure to inform that the prize money will be INR 5 crore for the whole team as well as the support crew. This year will undoubtedly be a watershed one,” Following India’s victory, Shah posted a tweet.

Additionally, the secretary extended an invitation to everyone in the unit to attend the meeting in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.

“I would like to extend an invitation to @TheShafaliVerma and her winning squad to come and watch the third Twenty20 international with us at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on February 1st.

This monumental accomplishment most definitely calls for some kind of party, “he continued.
