The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is holding its 93rd Annual General Meeting on September 25 in the midst of rumours surrounding the appointment of the organization’s next secretary. The selection of the new Secretary, after Jay Shah’s resignation to assume the role of Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC), will not be on the agenda for this meeting.
The BCCI AGM will reportedly discuss matters pertaining to the sponsorship of BYJUs and the creation of the new National Cricket Academy (NCA), according to NDTV reporting. Speaking of NCA, one of the main topics of conversation will be the ongoing building of a brand-new, cutting-edge NCA in Bengaluru.
The clearance of BCCI to begin renovations on the Mumbai headquarters’ façade will also be a matter of discussion during the AGM
After their three-year contract signing in 2019, BYJUs served as the Indian jersey’s primary sponsor. A 55 million dollar extension was made to the arrangement. The non-issuance of payments from October 2022 to March 2023 involved both companies. A new perspective on the story has emerged from possible talks about prospective business opportunities in the future.
Jay Shah has been unanimously elected as the new Chairman of the ICC and he is bracing to hold the chair officially from December 1.
“I am honoured to be proposed for the position of International Cricket Council Chair. In order to further globalise cricket, I’m determined to collaborate closely with the ICC team and our member countries.

At this pivotal moment, it is more crucial than ever to encourage the adoption of cutting-edge technology, strike a balance between the coexistence of many forms, and expand the reach of our major events into new international markets. We want to increase cricket’s appeal and inclusivity beyond all previous levels,” declared Shah after his election.
