A fan praised former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik for his performance in a movie, but mistakenly identified him as Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey.
The seasoned batter-wickekeeper has declared his intention to retire from all forms of cricket following the 2024 Indian Premier League. He has been actively participating in commentary duties for other franchise leagues.
Meanwhile, Massey—who is frequently praised for his likeness to Karthik—has been enjoying great success following the box office triumph of his most recent flicks, “Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba” and “12th Fail.”
The event happened on the social media site X, where a fan wrote, “Just watched Phir Aayi Hasseen Dilruba, powerful performance by Dinesh Karthik.” Karthik only commented, “Oh wow!!!” in response to the fan’s post. Many thanks.”

Professional coaching is a thrilling endeavour. Dinesh Karthik
Karthik recently announced that he was retiring, but he then changed his mind and signed up to play in the third SA20 season with Paarl Royals, becoming the first player from India to compete in this competition.
For the upcoming season, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have named the seasoned cricketer as their new batting coach and mentor.
“Being able to coach professionally is something I’m really excited about and is an exciting new chapter in my life.” With any luck, the variety of my playing experiences will help the team grow and provide something special,” Karthik stated in a release.
