Australia defeated Scotland in the third Twenty20 International of the series with ease, taking six wickets. They have won the series 3-0 and are in good shape for their next tour to England. Although the players were saddened by the series loss, Scotland coach Doug Watson pointed out that they had learnt a lot from the experience.
He continued by saying that the visitors’ bowling was excellent because Scotland was never able to put together a partnership of more than forty runs. In an attempt to succeed and provide possibilities for others, Scotland also altered their combination, but the hosts were unsuccessful.
“There are many things we can learn from, but the 3-0 loss is frustrating, and the guys will be disappointed because they are proud.” We are aware that your margins are quite narrow while competing against elite opponents. From the batting end of things, it was all about alliances. We didn’t get a 40-run partnership in any of the three games; it was something they excelled at, according to a BBC quote from Watson.
We made a lot of changes and cuts that we wouldn’t ordinarily make. To expose them to this level, we offered them a variety of options,” he continued.
McMullen aspires to be brilliant and is quite calm: Doug Watson
Throughout the three games in the series, Scotland’s most impressive player was Brandon McMullen. Coach Watson was impressed by his two half-centuries against Australia’s strong bowling attack. The 24-year-old, he said, is quite composed and wants to do well in the game.
He puts a lot of effort into his game, is calm, introspective, and driven to succeed. He demonstrated his class once more and played some excellent shots, according to Watson.

Interestingly, McMullen finished as the series’ top run scorer with 134 runs scored in just three games. Cameron Green and Josh Inglis placed second and third, respectively, in terms of run scoring in the end.
