Lalchand Rajput expects Pandya to concentrate on his game and to play freely without the pressure of leading the team in order to reach his full potential.

“I wish I could see him play red-ball cricket. He is a player who has the ability to alter the outcome in each of the three departments. He would benefit the team if he performed well in red-ball cricket. Rajput told Hindustan Times, “He’s an all-rounder who can come in at no. 6 and also bowl a few overs.”
Rajput supported Suryakumar’s performance as T20I captain and accepted the team’s decision to remove Pandya from the position. He wants Pandya to concentrate on his versatility and perform for the good of the team.
“I believe the selectors had to have considered the coach’s perspective as well. The management is interested in Hardik Pandya’s success. He can play freely and perform at his peak with bat and ball if they remove him from captaincy.

“I heard Ajit Agarkar say he was unfit most of the time at his press conference. They require a captain capable of participating in every game. That had to have worked in Suryakumar Yadav’s favour.
