Due to their on-field altercations in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli have been in the heart of controversy for a variety of reasons throughout the years. During the 2013 Indian Premier League, a scuffle broke out between the two players when Kohli charged towards Gambhir following the latter’s violent celebration of his dismissal. During the Lucknow Super Giants’ game versus Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2023, the two got into one of the most heated arguments verbally over the years.
All eyes are on the behaviour of the two who share a dressing room now that the former India opener has been appointed the team’s head coach. Cricbuzz reports state that Kohli has made it plain that the shared objectives the two legends have for the advancement of Indian cricket will not be impacted by previous outcomes. Furthermore, Gambhir had already disclosed his friendship with the great Indian batsman after their on-field shenanigans.
“Reality and perception are very different. This nation doesn’t need to know about my relationship with Virat Kohli. He and I both have the right to express ourselves and support the success of our respective teams. Our relationship isn’t meant to feed the masses masala,” Gambhir was cited by NDTV Sports.
