In their most recent IPL (Indian Premier League) 2024 matchup against the Mumbai Indians, the Kolkata Knight Riders recorded an outstanding triumph. On Friday, May 3, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, both teams squared off in the tournament’s fifty-first game.
The two-time winners, KKR, batted first in the match and amassed 169 runs in the first inning despite suffering with the bat thanks to the strikes of Manish Pandey and Venkatesh Iyer, who scored 42 and 70 runs, respectively.
In the second inning, KKR limited the Mumbai Indians’ hitters with an outstanding ball-handling effort. MI was down 24 runs in the second inning after being blown out for a total of 145 runs against the five-time champs.
Following the match, Gautam Gambhir, the coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders, spoke about his team’s performance versus MI on X, formerly known as Twitter. In the IPL 2024 standings, the Kolkata Knight Riders are still ranked second.
In relation to the Kolkata Knight Riders, they were able to hold onto their position in the IPL 2024 standings following their victory over the Mumbai Indians. After ten games in the tournament, KKR has managed to record seven victories and three defeats. The reigning champions are only two points behind the Rajasthan Royals, who top the table with 14 points. They are now ranked second in the standings.

The Mumbai Indians’ eighth loss of the season came from their defeat against KKR. After 11 games, three wins, and eight losses, the five-time winners are now ranked ninth in the rankings.
