England has officially announced their roster. May 1, 2024, is the deadline for all participating teams to send their preliminary drafts of their 15-member squads for the T20 World Cup 2024, which will be played in June in the USA and the West Indies.
Regarding leadership, nobody has changed; Jos Buttler and Moeen Ali were selected as captain and vice-captain, respectively, and they both kept their roles from the victorious 2022 campaign.
In regards to the other players in the top order, Will Jacks was called up for the first time for the highly anticipated competition, and Jonny Bairstow and Phil Salt were the logical choices given their impressive performances in the ongoing IPL 2024 and their plenty of experience. As backup wicketkeepers, Bairstow and Salt can also assist Buttler if necessary.

The defending champions’ middle order is made up of Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, and Chris Jordan. Moeen Ali and the aforementioned players offer sufficient options for all-rounders.
The bowlers include two left-handers, Tom Hartley and Reece Topley, and the cunning Adil Rashid, who heads the spin department. Jofra Archer, who returns from an extended injury with tremendous anticipation, joins the pace department. Mark Wood, a speedster, will be partnering Archer as the lead pacers.
England’s athletes won’t be able to compete in the IPL playoffs
It is important to note that the England Cricket Board has explicitly stated in its guidelines that the English players who are competing in the Indian Premier League will be returning home prior to the Men in Green series versus Pakistan.
Additionally, the board declared that the roster will depart for the Caribbean on May 31 in preparation for their June 4 opening match against Scotland.
