In order to accommodate cricket fans traveling from New Delhi to Ahmedabad to see the Cricket World Cup 2023 final, the Indian Railway launched a special train on Saturday. This action will relieve fans who were struggling with exorbitant airfares, which ranged from Rs 20,000 to Rs 40,000.
On Sunday, November 19, the much-awaited India vs. Australia match is scheduled to occur at the historic Narendra Modi Stadium. Compared to flying, the special train offers seats for far less money; sleeper sleepers cost Rs 620, while first-class AC seats cost Rs 3490.
The cost of the economy and premium 3AC seats is Rs 1525 and Rs 1665, respectively. The train is scheduled to leave Delhi in the evening and arrive in Ahmedabad early the next day. It will leave Ahmedabad for Delhi at 2:30 a.m. following the game.
To handle the enthusiasm around the cricket match, three other trains of a similar nature are running between Mumbai and Ahmedabad in addition to the train from Delhi.
Ahead of the India vs. Australia game, veteran cricket players are offering their predictions on who could win. Financial Express quotes former captain Sourav Ganguly as saying, “If India continues to play like they have performed in the tournament so far, then it will be tough to stop them.” Ganguly highlights the significance of India preserving their good tournament form.
Ex-Australian player Michael Bevan, who rates India as the “clear favorites,” heightens the suspense by acknowledging that Australia has a chance to win but that their batting needs to be improved. Bevan thinks that in this high-stakes match, the toss will also be very important, with the winning team probably choosing to bat first.
In a further recent development, it has emerged that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be the honored guest during the event’s finale. The PM, a cricket enthusiast, was among the first to congratulate Team India on their impressive and lopsided win over the Kiwis, which guaranteed them a spot in the ODI World Cup final for the fourth time ever.
