Those who want to see the final of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 19 are facing a lot of obstacles. The chores of booking lodging and tickets are proving to be difficult for the fans. They become entangled in the web of skyrocketing airfare and unnecessarily exorbitant hotel bills. Notably, the world’s largest cricket stadium will host India’s summit match against either South Africa or Australia.
Soon after the ODI World Cup 2023 schedule was revealed, fans from all over the nation and beyond began making travel plans to Ahmedabad, even before India was guaranteed a spot in the finals. But when hotel rates skyrocketed from Rs 24,000 per night to an outrageous Rs 2,15,000 per night, it became an even more tough issue.
With only a few days left before the final, Money Control reports that a basic hotel room might now run you Rs 10,000 per night. Expensive lodging, such as hotels with four or five stars, can cost around Rs one lakh. Prior to the intense confrontation between India and Pakistan in Ahmedabad, when hotel and ticket costs surged, this pattern was noted.
Travel booking websites like Booking.com, MakeMyTrip, and Agoda, however, noticed significant spikes in searches for accommodations in Ahmedabad prior to the India vs. Pakistan match and up until the finals. Round-trip ticket prices have increased by 200% to 300%, according to Google flight data. As of now, seats for the November 18 flight from Delhi to Ahmedabad cost more than Rs 15,000. Furthermore, the last round of match tickets is already entirely sold out, according to Book My Show.
Fans must print their e-tickets in advance of the 2023 ODI World Cup Final, according to BCCI.
The requirement to pick up e-ticket printouts from stadium counters a few days before the historic 2023 ODI World Cup Final also contributed to the rise. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary, Jay Shah, has informed spectators that ticket pick-up locations are designated counters.
