Three players that CSK may release before the 2024 IPL

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the five-time champions, enjoyed a fantastic IPL 2023 season. Despite a terrible performance in 2022, the ‘Men in Yellow’ recovered by making sure the team had everything it needed. The three players that CSK may release before the 2024 Indian Premier League are as follows:

1. Sisanda Magala

Following his selection for the national team, Sisanda Magala has had difficulties. Six T20 matches for South Africa and two IPL contests for CSK feature him. But with big winners of matches on both teams, Magala was left to warm the benches.

In terms of his IPL statistics, he was included in the starting lineup in the competition’s early stages. He has taken just one wicket at an economy rate of 8.50 in his two games. CSK appears to have assembled the ideal playing eleven, and Magala’s release is likely to occur before the 2024 Indian Premier League.

Although the circumstances and result suggest that CSK might not be the ideal team for the pacer, things might have turned out differently if MS Dhoni had given him more opportunities. 2. Dwaine Pretorius

Pretorius joined CSK at the 2022 mega auction and had a good run with the team the following year as well. The all-around South African player took Dwyane Bravo’s place in the team. Nevertheless, it appears like CSK may not require his services in the long run.

Pretorius had an amazing strike rate of 157.14 in 2022, scoring 44 runs in six games. Furthermore, he was able to secure six wickets for the team. Nevertheless, with just one chance in 2023, MS Dhoni did not include him in the side. This suggests that the management has decided on a starting lineup for the long term.

Pretorius’ status as an overseas player is the primary problem with him playing for CSK. 3. Ben Stokes
