On Monday, November 6, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka BAN vs SL will play in the 38th match of the ODI World Cup 2023. Bangladesh has only won one in their seven World Cup games and has been eliminated. Though they have only won two of their last seven games, Sri Lanka still has a chance to advance.
Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets in their most recent match. When Bangladesh batted first, they were dismissed for 204 runs in 45.1 overs, with just four of their players scoring in double figures. Fakhar Zaman put up a remarkable display, winning Player of the Match after capping his comeback with a magnificent half-century. Pakistan took 32.3 overs to successfully chase down the goal.
Sri Lanka had a difficult match in their most recent match against India. Rohit Sharma was out early in India’s innings, but Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli formed a strong combination and added 189 runs for the second wicket. But Dilshan Madushanka of Sri Lanka was exceptional; as India got close to 200 runs, he dismissed Gill (92) and Kohli (88). India reached a total of 357 for 8 thanks to the steady contributions of Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul, who added 60 runs for the fourth wicket with Iyer scoring 82. With five wickets for eighty runs, Madushanka was Sri Lanka’s best bowler.
As a result, Sri Lanka’s chase got off to a terrible start, losing four wickets for only three runs in the opening over. Only one Sri Lankan batsman made it to double digits as their batting was poor the entire time. They lost by 302 runs as they were eventually bowled out for just 55 runs in 19.4 overs. Mohammed Shami maintained his impressive bowling form, taking five wickets to go along with three from Mohammed Siraj and one apiece from Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja.
