The left-arm spinner Axar Patel will probably need more time to heal from his injury, therefore the Indian Cricket team has been obliged to alter their World Cup 2023 roster.
Notably, Patel pulled his left quadriceps during the Asia Cup 2023 Super Fours match against Bangladesh and hasn’t been able to practice since.
Ravichandran Ashwin, a seasoned off-spinner, has been named as Axar Patel replacement for the World Cup, which will begin in India on October 5. In the most recent series against Australia, Ashwin made his ODI comeback after a hiatus of 21 months, and he excelled with the ball in the second ODI. Notably, Ashwin collected four wickets in two innings at an average of 22 and an economy rate of 5.17 to end as the joint second-highest wicket-taker in the most recent series.
