During their Group A match in the 2023 Asia Cup, Shaheen Afridi once more unleashed his fury on India, bowling a brilliant spell of 4/35 in ten overs. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, and Ravindra Jadeja were among the notable victims in his four-wicket haul. Shaheen’s spell brought back memories for fans of his infamous three-wicket haul against India at the T20 World Cup in 2021, which enabled Pakistan to defeat their traditional rivals for the first time in World Cup history.

The expression recently made a comeback when the former Pakistani prime minister used it in a Tweet to compliment Shaheen Afridi for his threatening performance against India in the Asia Cup.
The use of this term to praise Afridi was recently brought up when Pakistan wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan was questioned. In response, he said that given their talent, all batters, not only Indians, could have trouble against Pakistan’s fast bowlers.
“Our fast bowlers have been instrumental in getting us to No. 1 in the world. And the three quick bowlers we’re referring to won’t only make it difficult for the Indian top order; they’ll make it difficult for any side. They bowl well and are talented. Rizwan was reported by HindustanTimes as stating, “And if you look at our bench strength, that is also quite good and that is why we have got to the top.
Mohammad Rizwan continued by complimenting India for scoring a respectable total despite losing early wickets in the previous match between the two teams.
“Their batters haven’t encountered our bowlers too much, either. Despite losing early wickets, they managed to put close to 270 on the board. In a same vein, we will have plans for when their bowlers face up against us. Indian bowlers are among the finest in the world, and they will undoubtedly pose a challenge to us. But as professionals, we ought to have the responses on hand,” Rizwan continued.
The Pakistan vs. India Super 4 game faces a significant rain threat.
At the Super 4 match of the Asia Cup 2023 on Sunday, September 10 at R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, India and Pakistan are scheduled to square off once more.
