Wanindu Hasaranga, a renowned all-around player for Sri Lanka, has ended his Test career. His decision to retire was made with the intention of extending his international white-ball cricket career. In just four Test matches for Sri Lanka, the outstanding all-around spinner scored 196 runs and claimed four wickets. In December 2020, he played South Africa in the game’s longest format for the first time. In April, he last played at home against Bangladesh.
According to a number of sources, he wrote Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) expressing his intention to retire from Test cricket, and the suggestion was accepted. He has emphasized that he wants to serve the nation to the best of his ability and that he wants to advance his career in limited-overs formats.
