On August 1, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made a public announcement requesting reputable organizations to submit bids for the title sponsor rights for BCCI events.
The “Invitation to Tender” (“ITT”), which will be made available upon receipt of payment of a non-refundable fee of INR 1,00,000 (Indian Rupees One Lakh Only) plus any applicable Goods and Services Tax, contains the specific terms and conditions governing the tender process, including eligibility requirements, the procedure for submitting bids, rights and obligations, etc. Up until August 21, 2023, the ITT will be for sale.
Emailing the payment information for the ITT purchase to titlesponsor.itt@bcci.tv is required of interested parties. The ITT papers will only be released once payment of the non-refundable ITT fee has been confirmed; it has also been made clear.
Any interested party who wants to make a bid must purchase the ITT. Only individuals who meet the ITT’s eligibility requirements and agree to all of its other terms and conditions are permitted to submit bids. It is made clear that no one has the right to place a bid simply by obtaining the ITT.
At any time and without giving a reason, BCCI maintains the right to halt or modify the bidding process.
Notably, the title sponsor rights were reportedly awarded to fantasy game company Dream11 for INR 358 crore in June.Late last year, the BCCI revealed that Mastercard had purchased the title sponsorship rights for all home matches, both international and local.
