The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted a humorous video in which KL Rahul was asked to identify the most well-known individual on his contact list. Without hesitation, the Karnataka batsman named Virat Kohli, his former captain and India colleague.
Currently in Australia, Rahul and Kohli are preparing for the much-awaited Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024–25. In an effort to reduce tension before the fierce match between the two dominant teams in world cricket, the BCCI’s social media team gathered a few players from the team for an entertaining Q&A session.
“Who is the most famous person in your contact list?” To the satisfaction of their common admirers, Rahul said, “Virat Kohli,” without the slightest hesitation in his mind.

Kohli and Rahul have a long history of friendship. In 2013, the two elite cricket players shared a dressing room at Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Even when the wicketkeeper-batter had bad spells, Kohli would always support him when he was captain of the Indian side. The Delhi batter’s belief in Rahul’s ability was the reason for this, not their strong friendship.
In Australia, Virat Kohli’s favourite knock is the Perth century.
In that same Q&A session, Mohammed Siraj asked Kohli which knock he liked best on Australian country. The 36-year-old’s captivating century came during the 2018–19 Border-Gavaskar Trophy in the Perth Test. While the raging Australian bowlers put too much pressure on his fellow batsmen, Kohli remained steadfast. Although India lost by 146 runs, Kohli received a lot of credit for his tough performance.

“Legend, legend,” said Sarfaraz Khan and Siraj enthusiastically as Kohli responded to queries from the BCCI’s social media team, expressing their appreciation for one of the greatest hitters in history.
