Visitors In the T20I series, which lasted four matches, India (IND) outperformed the hosts, South Africa (SA). The Suryakumar-led team was outstanding aside from their loss in the second Twenty20 International, particularly in the fourth game in Johannesburg when India won by an overwhelming 135 runs. The opportunity to express themselves was granted to the batters, and they made excellent use of it, breaking the 200-run mark in all three games.
The Proteas, meanwhile, had a terrible time with the bat. Herschelle Gibbs, a former cricket player, even petitioned the team management to bench senior hitter Aiden Markram from the fourth Twenty20 International after he had a bad series. Additionally unimpressive were David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen.

They had a great performance from Tristan Stubbs, but it was insufficient. The top three players in the series are listed here in the interim.
1. Tilak Varma
In the series, young Tilak Varma has excelled. He concluded the South Africa series as the top run scorer and became the second Indian player to reach back-to-back hundreds in Twenty20 International cricket. Notably, the 22-year-old scored 33 runs off 18 deliveries in the opening innings of the series and knocked down 20 runs in the second game.
Tilak wrecked havoc in the third match, slamming an undefeated 107 runs off 56 deliveries. In the fourth, the Hyderbad-born player improved, hitting 120* off just 47 deliveries. He demonstrated his worth and may have even guaranteed his place in the Twenty20 Internationals. He scored 280 runs at a strike rate of 198.58 in four games, which is, to put it mildly, outstanding.
2. Sanju Samson
Sanju Samson spent the whole T20 World Cup warming up. He was now asked to open the series against South Africa and Bangladesh during the absence of Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Using it to the fullest, he scored three hundreds in the last five Twenty20 Internationals. With his exceptional performance, Samson, a cricketer from Kerala, may have cemented his place in the squad.
At a 194.59 strike rate, the keeper-batter has amassed 216 runs in four games. After recording consecutive ducks and hitting a century in the opening Twenty20 International, he hammered another century in the final match. He and Tilak Varma put together the biggest partnership for India in T20 international cricket that game, totalling 210 runs.
3. Varun Chakravarthy
Varun Chakravarthy’s return is greatly deserving of praise. Prior to the series against Bangladesh, he was left off the squad and not given another chance after not making an impression at the 2021 T20 World Cup. In the series against South Africa, the mystery spinner proved to be India’s best bowler after a strong showing in that series.
Considering the conditions, he took 12 wickets at an economy rate of 8.62 in four games, which is outstanding. Despite a few slaps, the 33-year-old showed his value in the middle and ended the season as the series’ top wicket-taker. Now, he would like to maintain his form and solidify his place in the squad because the competition is fierce in the spin department.
