Rohit Sharma, a cricketer and captain of the Indian Test and One-Day International squad, and his wife Ritika Sajdeh welcomed a boy into the world on Friday evening, November 15. With a daughter called Samaira already, this is the power couple’s second kid. According to the rumours, Rohit and Ritika gave birth to their son in Mumbai; however, more information is still pending.
Journalist Vikrant Gupta shared the news on social media platform ‘X’ (previously Twitter) and microblogged to congratulate the newlyweds.
“Rohit Sharma and Ritika Sharma, congratulations on your fortunate baby son! Gupta stated, “Hopefully, the captain will be on the flight to Perth in a few days, touch-and-go for the first Test there.”

Rohit Sharma is uncertain for the match in Perth.
The player had already informed the BCCI that he will remain in India to give birth to his child, even though he was scheduled to go with the Indian squad for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024–25. Rohit may choose to travel now that the reason for his stay at home has been met, but it is still unclear why he was included in the series’ opening game.
In preparation for the first Test match at the Optus Stadium in Perth beginning on November 22, the remaining 17 members of the Indian team, together with the travelling reserves, are already in Australia and have begun warm-up match simulations. While Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Sarfaraz Khan, and Ravindra Jadeja would be the chosen batsmen for the high-octane match, KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal are expected to be tested as openers in Rohit’s absence.
