It is noteworthy that, in spite of such a rocky beginning, India’s innings steadied after Pant and Yashasvi Jaiswal displayed fortitude. At the conclusion of the first session, both batsmen contributed to India’s 88-run total with the loss of three wickets.

After three early knocks to Bangladesh at the beginning of the day, Pant and Jaiswal established a strong 54-run combination before lunch, preventing them from giving up another run.
